Barrabes was born in the town of Benasque, in the heart of the Pyrenees, under its tallest summit: Aneto.
In the 1990s we decided to open, in that small and isolated place, the largest outdoor store in Spain, which at that time also turned out to be one of the largest in Europe.
It seemed crazy, but we risked it anyway. We took a chance on something almost unknown that at the time, something that sounded like magic: THE INTERNET. We saw a unique opportunity for those like us, who lived in the mountains, far from urban centers.
Our online store was one of the first in Europe to open (in any field, not just for outdoor gear), and we soon became an internationally recognized reference in e-commerce.
Today, we continue to be leaders in the sector. Because we have never stopped trying to improve and do our best...our tireless passion for the mountains continues to drive us forward.
